Sheriff William Scogin

Sheriff Scogin began his tenure as Kent County Sheriff in April 2004. He is currently in his 3rd term as Sheriff. Sheriff Scogin began his law enforcement career with the Munday Police Department in Febuary 1992. In October 1993, Sheriff Scogin went to work with the Portland (TX) Police Department. While there, Sheriff Scogin was promoted to Corporal. He also was a Field Training Officer and Intoxilyzer Operator. Sheriff Scogin served the residents of Portland until August 1999 when he was hired by the Farmers Branch Police Department. He was also a Field Training Officer and Intoxilyzer Operator with the Farmers Branch Police Department until he left to accept the position of Sheriff, Kent County, Texas. Sheriff Scogin holds a Master certificate, Field Training Officer, Intoxilyzer Operator and Instructor certificates  issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education.
