Welcome to the Kent County Sheriff's Office
The Kent County Sheriff's Office is currently authorized three full time commissioned officers, including the Sheriff. We also utilize 4 reserve deputies who are fully licensed through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education and perform the same tasks as our full time deputies.
Our communications center is staffed with 7 employees whose job include answering 911, and dispatching deputies to calls for service. The Kent County Sheriff's Office began 24-hour dispatching during the 2007 calendar year. Communication Officers also dispatch for the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Wildlife - Game Wardens, Kent County Volunteer Fire Department and the Kent County Volunteer EMS.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office consistently and with uniformity strives to maintain social order and provide professional law enforcement services to citizens in the community, within prescribed ethical, budgetary, and constitutional constraints. This agency strives to enforce the law and maintain order in a fair and impartial manner, recognizing the need for justice, and the consistent appearance of justice. The Sheriff recognizes that no law enforcement agency can operate at its maximum potential without supportive input from the citizens it serves. This agency actively solicits and encourages the cooperation of all citizens to reduce and limit the opportunities for crime and to assist in bringing to justice those that break the law.
